In an effort to motivate our young learners to eat a balanced diet, a 'Healthy platter' activity was organized for the students of class Nursery, Kg-1 and Kg-2 on Wednesday, 28 September 2022. This activity made them aware of the benefits of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables. The variety of foods in our meals makes it interesting and flavourful. It’s also the key to a healthy and balanced diet because each food has a unique mix of nutrients along with filling half of our plate with colourful vegetables and fruits.
Children were encouraged to bring vegetable sandwiches, fresh fruits and vegetables, stuffed parathas, paneer in their tiffin boxes. The objective of the activity was to instil good eating habits and to say 'No' to junk food. A discussion on the harmful effects of consuming unhealthy food was held, to further encourage them towards leading a healthy lifestyle. This activity was an attempt to teach the kids to appreciate the food we eat by engaging them in a couple of creative activities that helps them in grasping the concept while they were at it, plating the food and having fun.
