A Sky Full of Hues: Sankranti Celebrations at SRCS

The campus of SRCS transformed into a vibrant canvas of color as students and the faculty, gathered to celebrate the auspicious festival of  Makar Sankranti. The air was thick with excitement, laughter, and the spirit of healthy competition as the annual Kite Festival took flight.

The celebration was more than just a gathering; it was a display of unparalleled joy. Students took to the open grounds with their reels and colorful kites, their faces glowing with a mix of concentration and triumph. As the kites began swirling across the sky, the "cheer and chase" atmosphere highlighted the deep-rooted cultural significance of the day—unity, harmony, and the celebration of nature's bounty.

Beyond the festivities, the day served as a wonderful "outdoor classroom." Students were enlightened that Sankranti marks the transition of the Sun into the zodiac sign of Makara (Capricorn) on its celestial path. It signifies the end of the winter solstice and the beginning of longer, warmer days as the Sun begins its northward journey (Uttarayan).

Students learnt Patience and Focus, Resilience, Teamwork

The day concluded with traditional sweets and a shared sense of accomplishment. The sight of a sky filled with kites served as a beautiful metaphor for the students of SRCS ...

Ready to soar high, yet firmly connected to their cultural roots.
