Lohri Celebration at SRCS

The festival of Lohri was celebrated with great enthusiasm and festive spirit in the school premises. Lohri is a popular harvest festival of Punjab, celebrated to mark the end of winter and to thank nature for a good harvest. It signifies happiness, prosperity, and togetherness, and teaches students the importance of gratitude and cultural traditions.

The celebration began with the lighting of the holy fire, which is the main highlight of Lohri. Students participated with great joy and happiness and gathered around the bonfire with excitement. They offered popcorn, sesame seed sweets (rewri), peanuts, and other traditional items to the holy fire as a mark of respect and devotion.

Students took rounds of the holy fire while praying for peace, prosperity, and well-being. The atmosphere was filled with energy as students danced enthusiastically to lively Bhangra music, showcasing the vibrant culture of Punjab. Their colourful attire and cheerful expressions added charm to the celebration.

The Lohri celebration helped students understand the cultural importance of festivals and encouraged unity, joy, and respect for traditions. It was a memorable event that filled everyone with happiness and festive warmth.
