SAFAL at SRCS

SAFAL stands for Structured Assessment for Analyzing Learning.

It is a key competency-based diagnostic assessment initiative launched by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for its affiliated schools, in line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

SRCS conducted it for the students of Grade 6th and 9th in October and November as per the schedule of CBSE. The assessment covered core curricular areas like English, Mathematics, and EVS/Science. It is a low-stakes, diagnostic assessment. The results help to identify learning gaps, improve teaching-learning practices, and measure school performance on key competencies.

In essence, SAFAL is designed to help the education system move towards a competency-based learning model and ensure students are mastering essential skills at crucial stages of their schooling.
